As an early Mother's Day present, I surprised Amy with something a little different.  I brought her out to a small airfield about 10 miles west of where we live.  Then before she knew it, she was 3200 feet in the air, flying in a glider!!!  I'm sure Amy will give more info on her site, but I know one thing... the pilot let her fly the glider for a while.  Pretty cool!

Amy and the boys in front of the glider.  Amy said they called it the "lifesaver" because of the colors.

She seems pretty psyched to do this.  I was expecting her to be more nervous.

Ah, there's a bit of the nervousness.

Getting strapped in and ready to go.

This is just before take off.  That dude has to hold up the plane so it doesn't tip over.

The glider still attached to the drag plane...

and then detached.

After landing, Amy got out...

thanked the pilot...

and seemed pretty happy about the experience!
