On Mother's Day, 2003, the boys and I took Amy out to wine country in Oregon to do a little wine tasting.  On the way, we stopped off to have lunch and then continued on our way.  We visited 3 wineries and tasted some pretty decent wines.  We ended up buying a few bottles at Sokol Blosser.  On the way home, we stopped off at a park so the boys could play for a bit.  They were such great kids during all that boring "adult stuff" we did.  What better way for Amy to see what a great mother she is than to spend the day with her two boys on their best behavior?

The first winery we visited was Rex Hill.  I didn't try anything here and Amy didn't mention liking anything in particular.

They had some big art thing.

The inside of the tasting area is very ornate.  There's lot of weird things too... like medieval Asian chicks.

The second winery we ended up at was Duck Pond Cellars.  I was looking for a dessert wine, which they had here, but it was a little too harsh for me (too much alcohol).

They had a little pond out in front...

but oddly, no ducks, just koi fish.

Our last stop at Sokol Blosser was the best by far.  Amy really liked their Evolution and I found a great dessert wine.

Of the three we visited, Sokol had the most beautiful land.

And the coziest little spot for that final picture.
