Mother's Day festivities were spread out over a
week's time, due to illness. On Mother's Day, the boys and I
went out to a nursery and bought 2 apple trees, both dwarf, one Lodi
and one McIntosh. When we got home, we dug a couple of holes in
the yard and planted those suckers. The original idea was to buy
2 cherry trees as well, but for now, we're sticking with the 2 apple
trees until we decide what else to do in the corners of the
yard. The pictures below were taken about 5 weeks after
planting. As you can see, we already have some fruit growth on
the Lodi!
The rest of the activities took place a week later when everyone
was feeling better. A simple trip to one of mommy's favorite
restaurants, Red Lobster. She was happy, the kids actually ate,
and it was fun.

The Lodi is on the right. The McIntosh on the left.
Note the green grass. |

Just another angle. Have I mentioned the grass? |

Here's one of the many fruits starting up on the Lodi.
I'll let you know how they turn out! |
