In September, 2004, uncle Mike came to visit us in
Portland. We took a trip to
Adventure Park, which
is near Mt. Hood. While the kids and Mike had fun together, my
main goal was to get him to do a bungee jump.
Mission accomplished! (4.88MB WMV)
Although there are no pictures, we also had a lot of fun on the
alpine slide. Mike and I both got hurt. Mike got hurt
under questionable circumstances. He and I were racing and
neither one of us wanted to put on the brakes as we approached the
finish. We both waited too long and had to brake hard, but he
chose to use his hands. My injury happened later when Jarod
was able to lock his arms off and prevent me from slowing down the
sled.
That
led to this. A spot on the sole of my sneakers was
similarly melted.

We started off by having lunch as soon as we arrived. |

They knew Mike was coming. |

Here's the obligatory picture in front of Hood... staring into
the sun. |

Mike and I can't go on these, but Amy and the kids love them.
There's video of them hopping around. |

The sun wasn't cooperating for Patrick's pictures, but the video
makes up for it. |

Both kids got to drive this car... |

I think they were the only ones there, but they wanted to ride
together. |

Here we are getting strapped in for the bungee jump. Mike
looks... concerned. |

In case you missed it before,
here's the video. If you listen real close on Mike's
first jump, you can hear him yell, "Oh sh*t!" |

We're all still alive and ready to head home. We had a
great time! |
