On 13 September 1999, I gave official notice to Intel that I would be terminating my employment.  I specified that I would leave in 2 weeks, on 24 September 1999.

I have accepted an offer from Webridge to be a Web Developer on their Web Development Team.  (Catchy, huh?)  I start on 27 September 1999.

Webridge is a start-up company focusing on business-to-business e-commerce, also known as e-business.  Their main product is MainSpan which is built on a robust, scalable n-tier framework utilizing MTS and Java.

My reasons for leaving Intel are numerous, and some are not the kind you would want to put in print.  However, it all boils down to being undervalued and underutilized.  Beyond that, my group was truly beginning to violate the "Great Place to Work" core value of Intel.  That being said, I really loved working at Intel and I loved working in my particular group until the changes occurred.  I was sad to go and may even return some day.  Ultimately, after analyzing possible other positions inside of Intel, I decided to pursue a course externally, which led me to Webridge.

I am very happy with my decision, but as you might guess, I have fears as well.  With a wife, 2 kids and a mortgage, changing jobs isn't the first thing that I think about on a day-2-day basis.  However, at only 24, I feel I have an opportunity to take a chance... make mistakes... learn from it... but hopefully come out on top.
