Roses and Perennials - July 2002

While Amy and the kids were still in Boston, I decided to plant a perennial garden for Amy.  It has 7 different kinds of perennials in it.  The one picture of it below isn't all that wonderful looking.  Some of the flowers that were in bloom, have faded/wilted.  And the others aren't yet ready to bloom.  But the first year of a perennial can be a bit lackluster while it adjusts.

After the family got back, we planted 16 rose bushes in the front yard.  They seem to be doing OK, producing a few nice flowers, but they wilt fast.  Again, it'll probably take some time, before they feel strong again.

Enjoy the pics!

These are the rose bushes.  You can see that 5 of them are small ground cover that should hopefully spread out over time.  Eight are in a line as a sort of "hedge."  Then there are 3 larger ones towards the front lawn.
More roses below!
This is the perennial garden.  As I said, it's not all that much to look at right now.  I just took an angled chunk out of our back yard lawn in the corner and planted them according to a plan I got from MSN.
