Bungee Jump - June 2003 On 7 June 2003, I jumped off the tallest bungee bridge in North America, located in Amboy, WA. Twice. The bridge is 200 feet high and was built just for bungee jumping. The guys and girls at bungee.com were great and they made it a very fun time. The first jump was your standard forward jump. It's kinda funny to watch. I felt like I was pushing off with all my might, but that was just what my brain was thinking. Clearly, my muscles were saying, "No, we don't do this." So, I basically just lurched off the platform. (You can see my feet kick for a few seconds as I go down!) The second jump was backwards and oddly, that was much easier to do. I flip over on the way down on that one. You might think the fall is the killer, but for me it wasn't. It was at the apex of the swing after the first bounce. As the bungee tightens, you start to feel secure... and then it springs you back into the air and that feeling of security is completely removed as you flail about. Very cool. ;-)
